Firebrat: The True Meaning of Christmas

Becky knows all about the story of Santa Claus from watching way too many Christmas specials on TV.  So when a genuine Christmas elf appears in her bedroom on Christmas Eve and offers her the chance to visit the North Pole and meet Santa Claus himself, of course she jumps at the chance! But it turns out to be a terrible journey into the depths of holiday madness and Santa himself turns out to be anything but jolly!

Firebrat is a black & white horror comedy comic and a loving homage to the ridiculously cheesy Christmas specials of the late 80s/early 90s. Also monsters! Lots of monsters from Christmas myth and legend!

I never liked how all those old Christmas specials badgered you about how important it was to believe in the unknowable mystery of the Christmas season… like, literally, every Christmas special that wasn’t just a rehash of gift of the magi was about the importance of belief. So that was part of my inspiration for doing this story. It’s the first Christmas story about NOT believing in stuff!
